First publication of 2025

Highlights:

  • An enhanced OPF formulation that supports heterogenous MTDC grids with monopolar links, bipolar links, or a combination of both.

  • It optimises the curtailment of renewable energy sources, as well as the power set points of generators and converters. The tool is designed for steady-state operation analysis and is intended to be easily accessible and expandable.

  • The package is designed as an open-source tool, aiming to support both new and experienced researchers in the field. This optimization formulation is expected to serve as a solid foundation for further studies on hybrid AC/DC grids, including but not limited to stability analysis constrained power flow, transmission expansion planning.

Congratulations to the authors, especially our doctoral candidate, Bernardo Castro Valerio.
