Inspiring Zacatecas Youth Forum
Garcia-Reyes started 2025 by giving a presentation to young people between 13-17 years old, in his hometown, Zacatecas (Mexico), to share his story and interest in sustainable energy sources and informing about the ADOreD program. This was in the hopes of inspiring them towards an education and future in the field of Wind and Energy research, showing the possibilities they have for making a difference in the world.
About this experience, Garcia-Reyes says: "Sharing the ADOreD project with high school students was an inspiring experience. I spoke about my journey from Zacatecas to a Marie Curie PhD and highlighted the role of renewable energy in modern power systems and its impact on decarbonization. Seeing their curiosity grow, their questions evolve, and their perspectives shift was remarkable. I hope this brief encounter encourages them to pursue their dreams and explore science as a path to a sustainable future."

International Conference on Power Systems Transients (IPST) 2025
Next up, he joined the International Conference on Power Systems Transients (IPST), in Guadalajara, Mexico, from the 8th-12th June. The event is a platform for the exchange of scientific and technical information related to electromagnetic transients in electric power systems. At this event, Garcia-Reyes gave his presentation: "A New Methodology for Ultra-Fast and Accurate Statistical EMT Analysis in Electric Power-Systems".
About the IPST, Garcia-Reyes states: "I had the opportunity to share my contributions with professionals from academia, industry, and transmission system operators, engaging in discussions highly relevant to my doctoral project. Adding to this, the fact that Guadalajara feels like my second home made this experience not only unique but deeply special."

IEEE PES Innovative Smart Grid Technologies (ISGT) Europe 2025
In October the IEEE PES Innovative Smart Grid Technologies (ISGT) Europe was held, in Valetta, Malta. Here, Garcia-Reyes gave the presentation: "Data-Driven State-Space Modeling for Small-Signal Stability Analysis of Black-Box Power Converters", talking about how a data-driven methodology to construct accurate state-space models of Voltage Source Converters (VSCs) for small-signal stability studies, can address the challenges with analysing stability and interaction in converter-based resources, such as black-box models.
"ISGT Malta set a record attendance, bringing together researchers and industry leaders from across the globe. The dynamic exchange of ideas was inspiring, and visiting the Distribution System Operator’s control center offered a fascinating glimpse into real-time grid operations"

CIGRÉ Technical Sessions 2025
In Madrid, Spain, the CIGRÉ Technical Session were held on 4th-5th of November, were Garcia-Reyes co-author Antonio Cordón Rodríguez from Red Eléctrica, presented their work on "Tools Development for Stability and Interaction Assessment of Large Modern Power Electronics Dominated Power Systems".
Garcia-Reyes: "The CIGRÉ Technical Sessions highlighted the challenges and opportunities of accelerating the energy transition. These discussions are crucial as we strive to integrate new technologies and infrastructures to meet decarbonization targets by 2030."

MathWorks Forum at IMDEA Energy
To end the year of 2025, Louis Angel Garcia-Reyes participated in the MathWorks Energy Transition Day 2025 in Móstoles, Spain. Here he held his presentation on: "SIaD-Tool: A Frequency-Domain Tool for Small-Signal Stability and Interaction Assessment in Modern Power Systems", about how decarbonization-driven electrification is reshaping industrial systems and introducing complex challenges in planning, design, and operation, such as integrating hydrogen, increasing renewable penetration, and deploying advanced power conversion technologies, and the possible solution to the challenges; SlaD-Tool.
Garcia-Reyes: "MathWorks Energy Transition Day is a key forum where Spain’s energy transition leaders present major advancements and tools built on the flexibility and capabilities of the MathWorks platform. Companies such as Arteche, Tecnalia, and Norvento Enerxía, among others, showcased technologies essential for integrating renewables into the Spanish power system. Participating in this event and sharing an open-access strategic tool that supports these developments was an outstanding experience. It also allowed me to establish valuable connections for future collaborations, both for my PhD and the institutions I represent."
