The 2nd Training School of ADOreD took place from the 13th to the 17th of May, hosted by Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya in Barcelona, Spain.
Overview of our activities:
Skill Training
We started the week with workshops dedicated to enhancing our DCs' skills in scientific methodology, technical training, entrepreneurship, science communication, and dissemination.
The workshops were led by Vinicius Albernaz Lacerda (Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya), Pieter Gebraad (Youwind Renewables), Anna Rivera Jové (Youwind Renewables) and Simon Rubin (DTU Wind and Energy Systems).
Industrial + Cultural Visit
We travelled to visit the Santa Llogaia substation—special thanks to the Red Eléctrica of Spain team for receiving us and sharing their work.
Afterwards, we visited the Dalí Theatre and Museum.
Poster Presentation
On Day 4, our DCs gave a poster presentation to UPC students and the supervisors of the consortium. Around 25-30 external participants joined the session.
Scientific Presentations
The last two days of the training school were mainly focused on seminars on various topics, including large power systems, stability, modal analysis, short circuits, and HVDC.
These were facilitated by Javier Renedo (Red Eléctrica), Agustí Egea Alvarez (University of Strathclyde), Marc Cheah Mañé (Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya), Josep Fanals i Batllori (eRoots Analytics) and Aleksandra Lekić (Delft University of Technology).
